According to the Yahoo commissioned survey, the green market has grown far beyond its roots as a niche, with 77 percent of consumers identifying themselves as "green." Over half (57 percent) said they made a green purchase decision in the past six months.

Wow - cute, fast, affordable and now with an all-electric engine. Kudos to BMW for taking a lead to turn apply this technology to the Mini. And boo to Detroit for dragging their feet again. Didn't our good friends at GM have an electric car, the EV1, in 1996 that they killed a few short years later? It makes me kinda sad to think that if the R&D $$$ spent on making the Escalade look pretty and the Cavalier look ugly were applied to making zero-emissions engines, Detroit would be in better shape today. I digress... congrats to BMW and I can't wait to see electric Minis darting around city streets.
